Haydn Composer
Joseph Haydn was born in Austria and lived from 1732 to 1809. Known as the 'father of the string quartet', he was had an incredible work ethic and wrote more than 100 symphonies. For much of his life he was in the service of the Esterházy family in Hungary. But in later years he enjoyed great fame and fortune working in London. Both Mozart and Beethoven were taught by Haydn. He's one of our favourite composers to perform, and this page brings together some of our favourite videos and articles about him.
